Our family have been farming at Worswell Barton for over 65 years. Worswell Barton, a working farm (800 acres), is hidden away in a magical corner of the South Hams, about a mile from the picture-postcard villages of Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers.
The Farmhouse is a English Heritage listed property, and is mentioned in the Domesday book and has a long history in the Revelstoke Estate. The Farmhouse has many charming characteristics: including its period, the many enclosed ceiling beams, sloping doorways, and stone walls and floors. Our guest rooms have all been named with reference to the coast and coves that surrounds our home.
All bedrooms have private showers, 2 rooms are en-suite. Each bedroom is well equipped and has a colour television, hot-drinks facility.
We are able to offer 2 double en-suite, 1 twin room with private shower (shared toilet). All rooms have splendid countryside views, over the walled garden towards Dartmoor.
We have a strict non-smoking policy. ALSO: no shoes or dirty socks upstairs policy. Slippers are provided, but please feel free to bring you own. This is because we have recently have had new carpets fitted, and is also a health and safety issue as we are a working farm. We hope you understand.
Breakfast here at Worswell, served anytime up to 9:15am, is usually a Full English, with home produce Bacon, Sausages, (whenever possible) mushrooms, tomatoes and our own fresh eggs. Fresh Bread, Fresh Fruit (whenever possible). I will also try to accommodate any special diets with prior notice.
Arrival time is usually from 4.30pm, latest check-in is 10pm. Departure should be by 10.30am to allow us to service the room for incoming guests. Late departures will incur a charge. Payment can be made, cheque or cash.
We have recently undergone some major changes here at Worswell Barton, with the National Trust replacing a new roof on the farmhouse and Old Building. We also managed to secure funding for Solar Panels for all our hot water and heating supply (supplemented by a wood-burning stove October to April).
